Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System Review

You’ll notice that the Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System is not smaller, it’s measuring 18 inches tall, 7.3 inches wide, and 9.6 inches deep. It’s a substantial piece of machinery, and it’s clear that it’s designed to be a workhorse in the kitchen.

But, with great size comes great responsibility – or, in this case, great storage requirements. Weighing in at a hefty 9.3 pounds, this blender is not exactly something you can easily toss around or store in a small cupboard. Given its size and weight, it’s probably best to find a permanent home for it on your kitchen counter, where it can be easily accessed and used. This way, you can simply pull it out and start blending whenever you need to.

Of course, not everyone has a ton of counter space to spare. If you’re short on room, you can always store the blender in a large cupboard or on a shelf. Just be sure to make sure it’s stable and secure, as you don’t want it to fall and get damaged. And, if you need to free up some space, you can always remove the main jar to make it a bit more manageable. This way, you can store the jar separately and still have access to the blender’s powerful motor and blades.

Jar Capacity & Material

Ninja blender duo with auto-iq

The Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System comes with multiple jars that provide plenty of capacity for different needs. The main jar is quite large, holding up to 72 ounces (72 ml). This size is perfect for making large batches of smoothies, sauces, or even dough for a family. If you’re preparing food for a group or meal-prepping, the big capacity will make your task much easier.

In addition to the main jar, there’s also a smaller, 24-ounce personal jar included. This is great for single servings or when you’re on the go. You can blend directly in this jar and take it with you, which makes it very convenient for busy mornings or quick snacks. Along with these jars, the system comes with a 64-ounce food processing bowl, which adds even more versatility. Whether you’re chopping vegetables or mixing dough, this bowl can handle a variety of kitchen tasks.

All the jars and lids are made from BPA-free plastic, which means they’re safe to use and won’t leach harmful chemicals into your food. Plus, unlike some other high-end blenders like the Vitamix 7500 and Vitamix 5200, the Ninja BN801’s jars and lids are dishwasher-safe. This makes cleanup a breeze since you can just pop them into the dishwasher after you’re done using them.

LID Design

Ninja BL610 Professional Blender lid

Securing the lid on the Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System’s main jar is simple but requires careful alignment. First, you need to match the triangle symbol on the lid with the same triangle symbol located on the jar’s handle. Once they are aligned, press down firmly on the handle until you hear the lid click into place. This ensures that the lid is securely locked, so you can blend without worrying about any spills or accidents.

One thing to note is that the lid is a single-piece design, which means it’s not a two-part lid. Because of this, you won’t be able to add ingredients while the blender is running. If you want to add something to your mix, you’ll need to stop the blender completely and remove the lid before doing so. This can be a bit inconvenient if you’re used to blenders that allow you to add ingredients while blending.

However, the blender does have a spout with a cover, which is handy when it’s time to pour out your blended mix. This spout helps prevent messy spills and gives you better control while pouring directly from the pitcher.

In addition to the main jar lid, the system comes with other useful lids. For the personal jars, there are convenient to-go lids. These are perfect for blending a smoothie or shake and taking it with you on the road. There’s also a separate lid for the food processor, which keeps everything secure while processing your ingredients.

ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System

Another thing you’ll notice about the Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System is its impressive build quality. The base of the blender is made of plastic, which is sturdy and durable, even if it’s not as thick as some of the more premium models on the market. But what sets it apart is the attention to detail – like the four suction cups on the bottom of the blender, which help keep it firmly in place while you’re blending away. The main jar is also made of plastic, and it feels solid and reliable in your hands.

The jars and lids are all made of BPA-free plastic, which means they’re safe for you and your family to use. Plus, they’re all dishwasher-safe, which makes cleaning up a breeze. No more scrubbing away at stubborn stains or food residue – just toss them in the dishwasher and let them come out sparkling clean.

When it comes to capacity, the blender delivers. The main jar has a whopping 72-ounce capacity, which is perfect for making big batches of your favorite smoothies or soups. And if you’re looking for something a little more portable, there’s also a 24-ounce personal jar included, which is perfect for making single-serve blends on the go. Plus, there’s a 64-ounce food processing bowl, which is great for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.

When you check the main blade assembly of the Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System, you’ll be amazed to know that it’s quite easy to clean. The six blades can be easily removed and washed in the top rack of your dishwasher, making it a breeze to keep them in good condition. Just be careful when handling the blades, as they’re extremely sharp and can cause injury if not handled properly.

It’s also important to note that this blade assembly is specifically designed for use with the 72-ounce main jar, and shouldn’t be used with the food processor bowl or the 24-ounce additional jars. Each of these components has its unique blade assembly, which is also dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning.

When it comes to the blender’s performance, it’s powered by a robust 1,400-watt motor that can reach speeds of up to 5,200 RPM. The minimum speed is 4,100 RPM, which gives you a relatively narrow range of speed settings to work with. This means you won’t have a lot of flexibility when it comes to adjusting the blending speed to suit your specific recipe. However, the blender’s Auto-iQ technology is designed to help you achieve the perfect blend, even with a limited range of speed settings.

The Ninja BN801 blender with Auto-iQ is great for making nut butter. You need to stop every minute or so to remove the lid and use a spatula or spoon to scrape the walls of the jar. Apart from that drawback, transitioning from low to high speed is quite straightforward.

You can also see this 6 blades in Ninja BN751 Professional Plus DUO Blender and Ninja BN701 Professional Plus Blender.

Making Soups

The Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-iQ is not designed for hot blending. This means it’s not the best option if you want to make soups directly in the blender. If you try to blend hot ingredients, you’ll need to let them cool down first. This can be inconvenient if you’re looking for a quick way to prepare soups or hot meals.

Another thing to consider is that this blender struggles with fibrous ingredients. For example, leafy greens like spinach or kale, and fibrous vegetables like broccoli, may not blend as smoothly as you’d expect. You might notice some chunks or pieces left behind. However, it does handle softer vegetables better. For instance, carrots tend to blend more easily, creating a smoother consistency.

On the positive side, the Ninja BN801 has a large jar, which means you can make big batches at once. If you’re blending large amounts, especially for family-sized meals or meal prep, the capacity will come in handy. But again, if you’re working with hot ingredients, you’ll need to let them cool down before blending.

Because of these limitations, I gave the Ninja BN801 a score of 48 out of 100 when it comes to making soups. If soup-making is a priority for you, it might be worth considering the Ninja Chef blender, which is better suited for hot blending and handling a variety of ingredients.

Nut Butter

Ninja TB201 Detect Power Blender Review

The Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-iQ is an excellent choice for making delicious and creamy nut butter at home. While it’s not a completely hands-off process, the result is well worth the minimal effort required. To get started, simply add your nuts of choice to the blender and begin blending at a low speed. As you progress, you’ll need to stop the blender every minute or so to remove the lid and scrape down the sides of the jar with a spatula or spoon. This is an important step, as it ensures that all of the ingredients are fully incorporated and that you’re not left with any chunky bits.

As you continue to blend and scrape, you’ll start to notice the mixture transforming into a smooth and creamy consistency. To get the best results, it’s essential to gradually increase the speed of the blender from low to high. This will help to break down the nuts and release their natural oils, resulting in a rich and velvety texture.

After about five minutes of blending, you’ll be left with a fantastic nut butter that’s perfect for spreading on toast, using in cooking, or simply snackin on straight from the jar. The Ninja BN801 blender makes the process surprisingly easy, and the result is well worth the minor inconvenience of stopping to scrape down the sides every minute or so. With a little patience and practice, you’ll be whipping up delicious homemade nut butter like a pro in no time!”

Smoothies

ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System

The Ninja BN801 is also perfect for blending fibrous ingredients like leafy greens or thick fruits, the Ninja BN801 shines. Its 24-ounce personal jars are the perfect size for whipping up a quick and delicious single-serve smoothie. In just two minutes, you can enjoy a silky-smooth treat that’s packed with nutrients. It’s ideal for busy mornings or post-workout snacks when you need a quick energy boost.

However, if you’re planning to make larger batches of fibrous ingredients, the Ninja falls a bit short. When you fill the jar to the brim, it can struggle to break down tougher ingredients like kale, leaving you with a grainy puree. To get the best possible texture, you’ll need to blend for around 8 minutes, which can be a bit of a wait. If you’re looking to make multiple smoothies or blend a full recipe into a creamy soup, you might want to consider the Ninja CT810 Chef Blender, which can handle bigger batches with ease.

But where this Ninja blender truly excels is in its ability to crush ice. In a mere 30 seconds, it can transform even the largest ice cubes into a fluffy, snow-like consistency. Whether you’re making a refreshing summer drink or a frozen treat, the Ninja BN801’s ice-crushing abilities are unbeatable.

Ice Crushing

The Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System performs exceptionally well when it comes to crushing ice. In fact, it’s one of the best blenders for this task. When you use it to crush ice, you can expect it to do so with ease and efficiency.

It takes just about half a minute to turn ice cubes into a snow-like texture. This means the blender is fast and effective, giving you finely crushed ice that’s perfect for drinks like smoothies, slushies, or frozen cocktails.

Both the ice preparation and the ice texture scores are excellent, each rated at 100. This shows that the Ninja BN801 doesn’t just crush ice; it does so in a way that produces consistent and high-quality results. The ice comes out soft and fluffy, without large chunks or uneven pieces, making it ideal for anyone who needs perfectly crushed ice in a short amount of time.

This machine gives you plenty of options to make different recipes. It has five preset modes perfect for tasks like smoothies, crushed ice, chopping, and more. As someone who likes to get creative in the kitchen, I appreciate how easy the preset buttons make it to switch between modes.

One of the most convenient features is the on/off switch, which makes it easy to turn the blender on and off as needed. When it comes to speed, the Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System provides you with a variable speed control that lets you adjust the speed to suit your blending needs.  Moreover, with three preset modes to choose from, you can tackle a variety of blending tasks with ease.

But what sets the Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System with Auto-iQ apart is its range of preset modes. With options like ‘Smoothie’, ‘Ice Crush’, ‘Chop’, and ‘Dough’, you can tackle everything from blending up a quick smoothie to crushing ice for a frozen drink. And with the ‘Extract’ mode, you can use the 24 oz jars to make single-serve blends – perfect for when you’re in a hurry.

Other features worth noting include the pulse/turbo mode, which gives you an extra burst of power when you need it, and the blending time indicator, which lets you know how much time is left when you’re using one of the preset modes. With five programs to choose from, you can customize your blending experience to suit your needs. Overall, the Ninja BN801 is a powerful and feature-rich blender that’s designed to make your blending tasks easier and more convenient.

While the powerful motor and sharp blades make light work of ingredients, they can present a bit of a challenge when it’s time to scrub it clean. Given how finely it can chop foods, there are usually little bits that get trapped everywhere.

I appreciate that the entire blending assembly detaches easily for washing. However, as with many high-powered blenders, those blades are incredibly sharp so you have to be very careful not to nick yourself. I always use a bottle brush or wand with a long handle to reach the nooks and crannies.

One area that tends to collect food debris is the bottom of the column where it connects to the jar. It’s tricky to scrub deep down into that little hole. I find soaking it with hot, soapy water first helps break up any stuck-on bits before scrubbing.

Honestly speaking, while it may not be the simplest machine to thoroughly hand wash, taking my time and using the right tools helps get it sparkling clean. With a little care and patience around those sharp blades, cleaning hasn’t been too much of a hassle. It’s a small tradeoff for how well this blender performs otherwise.

The Ninja BN801 blender is not exactly the quietest blender on the market. When you run it at its maximum speed, it reaches a noise level of 91.6 decibels (dB). To put that into perspective, a normal conversation between two people is usually around 60 dB, while a lawnmower or a vacuum cleaner can be as loud as 90 dB.

So, the Ninja BN801 is definitely on the louder side, but it’s not ear-piercingly loud either. It’s more like a steady hum that you’ll notice, but it won’t be painful to your ears. That being said, if you’re planning to use it during early morning hours or when you have a sleeping baby in the house, you might want to take some precautions.

Ninja HB150CHB152 Foodi Heat-iQ Blender

The Ninja HB150C/HB152 and Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System offer different functionality depending on your needs. The Foodi model stands out for its ability to hot blend and simmer ingredients directly in the jar. This makes it ideal for recipes like soups, sauces, and homemade nut milk which you want to heat as part of the blending process.

Its larger 72oz pitcher is also well-suited to blending big batches of smoothies or blended soups. The extra power can easily pulverize more fibrous ingredients into silky smooth textures.

The Ninja BN801 takes a more versatile approach with its two personal-sized jars that have resealable lids. These make it convenient to prepare single servings of smoothies on the go. It also includes additional food processing attachments like dough and chopping blades for tasks beyond simple blending.

So in the end, the Foodi is better if you mainly want a machine for blending larger hot or cold volumes. The Ninja is a better all-around option if you want accessories and the ability to easily store or transport individual portions. Both have their place depending on your specific kitchen needs.

KitchenAid K150

The KitchenAid K150 and Ninja BN801 also each have their advantages depending on your needs in the kitchen. The KitchenAid sets itself apart with its ability to heat ingredients directly in the jar – perfect for blending up warm soups, sauces, or other recipes where you want to incorporate heat.

It also tends to perform a bit better when pureeing more fibrous foods, resulting in an ultra-silky texture. This makes it a great choice if you often make big batches of smoothies or blended recipes to share.

The Ninja is geared more towards individual portions with its pair of personal-sized jars that have resealable lids. This makes it convenient for blending up smoothies on the go or meal-prepping single servings.

It also includes additional attachments like a dough blade and chopping disk that allow it to take on a wider range of tasks beyond basic blending. So the Ninja is a better all-around appliance if versatility is important. Read detail review of KitchenAid k150.

Vitamix 5200 Blender

The Vitamix 5200 generally outperforms the Ninja BN801 but also carries a higher price tag. The Vitamix feels built to last with its heavy-duty motor and sturdy construction. It blends circles around most machines, taking on even the toughest ingredients with ease.

Cleaning is also simpler than many high-powered blenders since most remnants wash away with just hot water. This heavy-duty workhorse is the way to go if you plan to use your blender daily.

That said, the Ninja does offer more bells and whistles like extra accessories that allow it to take on food processing tasks as well. Its personal-sized jars also make it convenient for single servings. And of course, its lower price point makes it more attainable for some.

So while the Vitamix 5200 blender is the superior machine in terms of power and durability, the Ninja remains a solid option that provides more value for the money. It all comes down to your budget and exactly how you intend to use your blender regularly. Both have their strengths to consider.

Calphalon 24-oc Blender

When it comes to powerful personal blenders, the Ninja BN801 and the Calphalon ActiveSense 1200 are two top contenders. Both promise to take your culinary creations to the next level, but which one is the best fit? So, I’ve spent some time putting these machines through their paces.

The Calphalon shines when tackling large batches of smoothies or blended soups. Its sturdy pitcher can hold a serious amount of ingredients, and the sharp blades make quick work of even fibrous fruits and veggies. Cleanup is a breeze too – just toss that pitcher in the dishwasher when you’re done. However, I’ve found that Calphalon can sometimes struggle with drier mixes like nut butter.

On the other hand, the Ninja is an absolute whiz at grinding nuts into smooth butter. Its high-powered motor makes short work of any tough blend. I also appreciate how quiet it runs, so early morning smoothies don’t disturb the whole house. Bonus – the Ninja comes with an extra food processing bowl for slicing and shredding veggies. Just be aware its pitcher has a smaller capacity than the Calphalon if you’re feeding a crowd.

vitamix explorien e310

As someone who enjoys whipping up tasty meals at home, I’ve been doing some research into high-powered blenders. Two models I kept hearing about were the Ninja bn801 professional blender and the Vitamix Explorian E310. Both seem like powerful performers, but which one would best suit my needs?

Right off the bat, the Vitamix feels like the Cadillac of blenders. That thing is built like an absolute tank – I’m pretty sure you could blend rocks in it! It also has some serious skills, like handling hot soups and sauces straight from the pot. The Vitamix shredded through big batches of kale and berries for my green smoothies. It’s a dream to make different kinds of butter too.

Don’t get me wrong, the Ninja is no slouch in the blending department. But it can’t quite match the Vitamix’s muscle. It did handle my single-serve smoothies just fine though, thanks to the individual jars. I also liked that it was much quieter running. Not to mention way easier on the wallet compared to the E310.

So, if money is no object, Vitamix is the way to go for serious home cooks. But for most average families, the Ninja does a stellar job at a fraction of the price. Read detail review of Vitamix Explorian E310 blender.

NutriBullet NBF50520

Although both machines have their strengths and weaknesses, the Ninja BN801 Kitchen System is generally the better choice for most people.

One of the standout features of the Ninja BN801 is its ability to crush ice with ease. Whether you’re making smoothies, frozen drinks, or even just crushing ice for a party, this machine can handle it with ease. And when it comes to making nut butter, the Ninja is in a league of its own. It produces a smooth, creamy consistency that’s hard to beat. Plus, it’s a little bit quieter than the NutriBullet, which is a big plus for those of us who value a peaceful kitchen.

On the other hand, the NutriBullet NBF50520 has its unique strengths. For one, it’s a beast when it comes to handling large batches of tough, fibrous ingredients in its main jar. Whether you’re making a big batch of hummus or blending up a bunch of leafy greens, this machine can handle it with ease. And, unlike the Ninja, the NutriBullet can handle hot blends, making it perfect for whipping up soups and sauces. This feature is especially useful for those who like to make their soups or sauces from scratch.

Ninja Foodi SS201 Power Pitcher

The Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System is generally the better choice for most people. One of the main reasons for this is that it’s a master when it comes to blending smoothies. The fact that it comes with personal jars makes a big difference – it’s able to get the perfect consistency and texture every time. Whether you’re a smoothie enthusiast or just looking for a quick and easy breakfast option, the Ninja is the way to go.

Besides that, the Kitchen System also comes with a food processor bowl, which is a game-changer for anyone who loves to cook. With this feature, you can chop and slice vegetables with ease, making meal prep a breeze. And, as a bonus, the BN801 is much quieter when running compared to the Power Pitcher. This is a big plus for anyone who values a peaceful kitchen, or for those who like to cook early in the morning without waking up the whole household.

Overall, the Ninja BN801 offers a lot more versatility and functionality than the Ninja Foodi SS201 Power Pitcher. While the Power Pitcher is still a great machine, the Kitchen System is the better choice for anyone who wants a machine that can do it all. With its ability to blend perfect smoothies, chop and slice veggies, and run quietly, it’s a great addition to any kitchen.

KitchenAid K400

I’ve found the KitchenAid K400 to be the more versatile machine. Its powerful motor makes light work of tough tasks like pureeing leafy greens or shredding vegetables into rice-sized pieces. I love being able to make hot soups straight in the blender as the cooler months set in. That said, the Ninja BN801 has some perks of its own.

While the KitchenAid edges out the Ninja in terms of muscle and functionality, the Ninja sets itself apart with included extras that boost convenience. I appreciate the personal-sized Nutri Ninja cups that let me blend up a single-serving smoothie on the go. The food processing bowl is also a nice bonus – it’s great for slicing, shredding, and mixing dough right in the container.

For most everyday blending needs, the KitchenAid is my top choice. But if portability and extras are important to you too, the Ninja BN801 could be the better fit. Ultimately, both machines will save you time in the kitchen. I’d recommend considering your specific needs and deciding which perks matter most. With either appliance, you’ll be well-equipped to whip up healthy meals and snacks in a snap.

We also reviewed the KitchenAid k400 in very deep detail, you may check it.

In the time I’ve had the Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System, it’s become one of my most used appliances in the kitchen. The powerful 1500-watt motor makes light work of even the toughest ingredients, from frozen fruits to leafy greens. I love being able to make all kinds of recipes, from smoothies and nut butter to soups and doughs, without having to switch between multiple tools.

The included food processing bowl and personal blending cups have taken my cooking prep to the next level too – everything can be done right in the same machine. Cleanup is a breeze with all the dishwasher-safe parts. I also appreciate how quiet it runs compared to other high-powered blenders. Overall, the Ninja delivers on being a versatile and muscle-bound kitchen workhorse.

If you’re looking for a blender that can crush ice, pulverize veggies, and more, I highly recommend the Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System. At its reasonable price point, you’re getting far more than a simple blender – it’s a complete culinary powerhouse. Whether you’re a daily smoothie drinker, an avid home cook or just trying to simplify meal prep, this blender has you covered. I can see why it’s a favorite for so many home chefs. For the space it takes up on your counter and all it can do, it’s worth the investment.
