Overall Look and Design

Ninja BL770 mega kitchen system

When I first decided to pick a perfect model for my readers, I did tons of research to find the right fit for the Ninja BL770 mega kitchen system. The Ninja brand kept coming up as a top performer, so I settled on the BL770 model. Now that I’ve had some time testing it by my own experience, I want to give you my in-depth and honest review to help in your decision-making.

One thing that immediately stood out about the BL770 when I checked it was its sheer size. This blender is definitely not messing around – it’s one of the tallest and bulkiest machines on the market. Towering in at nearly 18 inches high, it takes up a lot more vertical space than other previous blenders. Width and depth-wise, it also has a much larger footprint that needs to be considered depending on your counter or cabinet space.

The massive size is a bit intimidating. You may not be sure where you need to store this beast when not in use. But after using it for several recipes, I can understand why Ninja designed it in this way.

The large 72-ounce pitcher is also a huge plus. You’ll be able to make multiple servings at once rather than doing multiple batches.

This model is also similar to Ninja BN701 Professional Plus Blender and Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System.

Built Quality

I was really impressed by its solid construction when I checked the quality. No doubt Ninja uses high-quality, durable materials in designing their appliances. All the plastic parts have a nice substantial weight and thickness to them. Even the internal gears, while plastic, fit together tightly without any wiggle room. It’s clear this blender was made to last.

I was also surprised by just how massive the Ninja is compared to old blenders. The extra large 72-ounce pitcher allows users to make truly huge batches of smoothies, soups, and more. No more doing multiple batches to feed your whole family. The included 64-ounce food processor bowl is also a lifesaver for prepping fresh veggies.

Using the Ninja is incredibly simple. The arrow lock system ensures everything fits together securely and smoothly every time. While it doesn’t have a two-part lid, you can still add ingredients through the spout opening as needed. I love having the option of multiple speeds too for different textures.

Blades

Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System

The Ninja blender is equipped with a powerful blade assembly. It features 6 ultra-sharp stainless steel blades arranged in a column. You can remove the blade unit from the pitcher for easy cleaning, but you do need to be careful of the sharp edges.

There are actually different blade assemblies depending on which jar or bowl you use. In addition to the main pitcher blades, there are also blades designed specifically for the personal cups and food processor functions. All the blade pieces are top-rack dishwasher safe as well.

While it only has preset speeds rather than a dial, the blender still offers a good range of speeds from 3,200 to 4,500 RPM. The lowest setting is ideal for mixing dough while the highest “Crush” mode pulverizes ingredients quickly. You don’t have as much fine-tuning ability compared to some other models. But overall it can still achieve most textures needed for different recipes.

Noise Level

When it comes to noise, this Ninja blender definitely lives up to its powerful name. I was a little taken aback the first time I used the top speed setting.

Now to be fair, it’s blending at a very high rpm to pulverize ingredients fast. But if you’re looking for a quiet machine, this one isn’t it. I measured it clocking in at a solid 96.9 decibels on the highest crush mode.

There are definitely more hushed options out there like some of the Breville Fresh and Furious Blender or Ninja BN751 professional plus DUO blender. Those are probably better if noise is a concern. That said, the trade-off is you won’t get the same muscle under the hood as you do with this blender.

Performance

Crushing Ice

Ninja BL770 mega kitchen system

Crushing ice with the Ninja BL770 is totally easy! I’d give it a perfect score of 100 out of 100 for both ease of preparation and texture. This blender is a rockstar when it comes to turning ice into a fluffy, snow-like consistency.

What’s impressive is how quickly it gets the job done. We’re talking mere seconds here, folks! You’ll be enjoying your frozen drinks in no time, with ice that’s been crushed to perfection. It’s like having a mini snow maker in your kitchen!

The Ninja BL770 and its variants are truly exceptional when it comes to ice-crushing. They’re designed to handle tough ingredients like ice with ease, and they deliver. Whether you’re making frozen margaritas or just want to add some crunch to your smoothie, this blender is up to the task

Nut Butter

Making nut butter with this blender is a breeze! I’d give it a solid 75 out of 100 for ease of preparation, and a whopping 95.5 out of 100 for the texture of the final product. The resulting nut butter is incredibly smooth and spreadable – just what you want.

Now, I do have to mention that it’s not a completely hassle-free process. For one thing, it takes a bit longer than some other blenders to get the job done. And, you’ll need to stop the machine and scrape down the sides of the jar with a spatula a few times to make sure everything gets fully incorporated. It’s not a huge deal, but it’s worth noting.

Smoothies

Ninja BL770 mega kitchen system

Dealing with fibrous ingredients like kale can be a real challenge, but the Ninja BL770 does a decent job of handling them. When you’re using the main jar to its full 72-ounce capacity, it’s able to create a pretty well-blended puree. However, it’s not perfect – you’ll still notice some small grains left over, and it’s not a completely liquified consistency. The bigger downside is that you need to blend for a pretty long time – almost 10 minutes – to get the best results.

On the other hand, when you’re working with smaller batches of fibrous ingredients in the 16-ounce personal jars, the Ninja BL770 shines. It’s able to whip up a silky smooth smoothie in just about two minutes, which is amazing. The only catch is that you need to hold down the ‘Single Serve’ button the whole time, which can be a bit of a hassle.

How to Use Ninja BL770 mega kitchen system

you’ll find that it’s got a pretty straightforward design. There’s a simple on/off switch, which is easy to use, but it’s not exactly overflowing with features. You’ve got four preset speeds to choose from, which is nice, but you don’t get a fancy speed dial to fine-tune your blending. Instead, you’ve got three buttons labeled 1-3, which correspond to different speed settings. There’s also a ‘Dough’ button, which gives you the lowest speed, and a ‘Crush’ button, which gives you the highest.

One thing to note is that these settings aren’t actually blending programs, which means the blender won’t automatically turn off after a set amount of time. You’ll need to keep an eye on things and turn it off yourself. This might be a bit of a drawback for some users, especially if you’re used to blenders that can handle more complex blending tasks. But for simple blending tasks, this shouldn’t be a problem.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the single-serve option is only available when you’ve got a 16-ounce personal jar docked on the motor base. This is a bit of a limitation, but it’s not a deal-breaker. Just make sure you’ve got the right jar in place, and you’re good to go.

If you’re looking for more advanced features, you might want to consider other blenders on the market. For example, the Ninja TB401 Detect Kitchen System Power Blender has a ‘BlendSense’ feature that lets you automate your blending, and it even comes with an LED display that shows you how much time is left in the blending cycle. This can be really handy if you’re trying to blend complex ingredients or achieve a specific texture.

Besides that, if you’re looking for a blender that comes with a food processor, the NutriBullet NBKS50100 Triple Prep System might be a good option. It’s got blending programs for each of its jars, which can be really handy if you’re trying to make different types of recipes. Plus, the food processor attachment can be really useful for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.

How to Clean

Admittedly, cleaning the blades on this Ninja blender does require some care and dexterity. With six razor-sharp stainless steel cutting edges arranged so closely together, these puppies mean business when it comes to pulverizing foods.

But that powerful design also means any remnants have nowhere to hide. Getting all the nooks and crannies looking spotless again takes some finesse. You really have to watch your fingers washing around those blades.

The column shape is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, it packs serious blending muscle into a compact space. But it also makes for tight quarters that crumbs and such can get wedged into.

Thankfully a short soak in hot soapy water usually does the trick. But I definitely recommend washing the blades separately from the rest of the parts if possible. That way you can focus fully on navigating those sharp edges safely.

Comparison with other blenders

Vitamix 5200 Blender

After checking out the features and performance of both machines, it seems the Vitamix 5200 is a bit more heavy-duty overall. It’s built super sturdy like a tank and can handle just about anything you throw in it – hot soups, tough nuts, and huge batches of smoothies. The Ninja is no slouch, but the Vitamix motors are more powerful. Some people also find the Vitamix easier to clean by hand since all the parts aren’t dishwasher safe.

On the other hand, the Ninja BL770 comes with three personal-sized cups that have handy to-go lids. I can see how this would be amazing for making single servings of smoothies or protein shakes to drink on the go. Not only that, but the cups, lids, and blades all go in the dishwasher which makes cleanup a breeze. For a family, the Ninja cups could help avoid fighting over who gets to use the blender each morning!

The Vitamix A2500 is the clear winner. One of the main reasons for this is its exceptional build quality. It’s built to last, with a sturdy design that can withstand heavy use and cleaning. And speaking of cleaning, the Vitamix is a breeze to maintain – its parts are easy to remove and wash, and the blender itself is designed to be self-cleaning.

Another major advantage of the Vitamix A2500 is its incredible versatility. Unlike many other blenders, It can handle hot blending, which means you can use it to make soups, sauces, and other hot liquids with ease. When it comes to processing big batches of fibrous ingredients like fruits and vegetables, the A2500 is in a class of its own. The Vitamix a3300 Ascent Series Smart Blender is the clear winner in terms of overall performance and quality. NutriBullet Blender Combo

On the one hand, the Ninja Mega Kitchen System is a beast of a blender. It’s built to last, with a sturdy design that can withstand even the toughest ingredients. And when it comes to crushing ice, the Ninja is unmatched – it can handle even the thickest, most stubborn ice cubes with ease. Plus, it’s a master at making nut butter and other thick mixtures, producing a smooth and creamy texture that’s perfect for snacking or baking.

On the other hand, the NutriBullet Blender Combo has its own advantages. For one, it’s much quieter than the Ninja, making it a great choice for early-morning smoothies or late-night blending sessions. And when it comes to cleaning, the NutriBullet is a breeze – its parts are easy to remove and wash by hand, making maintenance a snap.

But where the machine shines is in its ability to process big batches of fibrous ingredients. Breville Q blender

Breville is generally the better choice for most people. One of the main reasons for this is its ability to hot blend, which means you can use it to make soups, purees, and other recipes that require warm ingredients. This is a major advantage over the Ninja, which can’t handle hot blending.

With the Breville Q blender, you can do just that. Its hot blending capabilities make it a versatile and convenient addition to any kitchen and open up a whole new world of recipe possibilities.

But that being said, the Ninja has its own strengths. For one, it’s a powerhouse when it comes to crushing ice. Oster Pro 1200

The Ninja BL770 just feels more solidly built. The construction of the blender is robust and sturdy, giving you confidence that it can handle even the toughest blending tasks. In contrast, the Oster Pro 1200, while still a reliable blender, doesn’t quite have the same level of build quality. This is important because you want a blender that can withstand the rigors of daily use, and the Ninja delivers on that front.

Another key advantage of the Ninja is its versatility. The blender comes with a larger main jar, which is perfect for making big batches of your favorite smoothies or soups. But it also includes two personal blender cups, which are ideal for whipping up quick smoothies on the go. This means you can make a batch of smoothies for the whole family, or quickly blend a single serving for yourself. The Oster Pro 1200, on the other hand, only comes with a single main jar, which limits its versatility.

If you’re into making your own nut butter or crushing ice for frozen treats, the Ninja is also the clear winner. Its powerful motor and specially designed blades make quick work of even the toughest ingredients, resulting in smooth and creamy nut butter and perfectly crushed ice. The Oster Pro 1200, while capable of handling these tasks, doesn’t quite have the same level of power and precision as the Ninja.

That being said, the Oster Pro 1200 has its own strengths that are worth considering. One of the biggest advantages is that its 48-ounce main jar is made of glass, which can be a game-changer for those who prefer a non-plastic option. Glass jars are often preferred because they’re easier to clean, less prone to scratches and cracks, and can withstand extreme temperatures. If you’re someone who values the benefits of a glass jar, the Oster Pro 1200 is definitely worth considering.

Another advantage of the Oster is that it’s incredibly easy to clean by hand. The blender’s design makes it simple to disassemble and wash, which is a major plus for those who hate dealing with complicated cleaning processes. The Ninja Mega Kitchen System, while still easy to clean, requires a bit more effort and attention to detail.

My Final Verdict on the Ninja Mega Kitchen System

After using the Ninja BL770 for several months now, I can confidently say it has exceeded all my expectations as a high-performance blender. While it may lack some of the finer controls and presets of pricier options, it more than makes up for its power, versatility, and value.

This blender has tackled every recipe I’ve thrown at it – from smoothies and nut butter to doughs, sauces, and more – with incredible ease. The sharp blades make light work of even the toughest ingredients. Cleanup is also a breeze thanks to the simple yet sturdy design.

The extra-large 72oz pitcher is ideal for my big family meals and batch cooking. I love having plenty of room for adding all the fruits and veggies we can eat. The food processor bowl is also an awesome addition I use multiple times a week.

While it’s a bit louder than some others, the noise is worth it for the power under the hood. I’ve yet to encounter anything this blender couldn’t pulverize with its multiple high-speed settings.

If you’re looking for a powerhouse blender that will stand the test of time, the Ninja Mega Kitchen System is an absolute steal for the money. I can confidently recommend it to anyone seeking a heavy-duty machine for all their blending needs.
