Ninja TB201 Detect Power Blender Review

Size of Ninja TB201 Detect Power Blender Pro

Overall Scored of this feature100%

The Ninja tb201 Detect Power Blender Pro is a full-sized machine. Standing just over 17 inches tall, it’s not exactly what I’d call compact.

Width-wise, it’s not too bad at around 8.2 (20.8cm) inches. That’s only a touch wider than the average food processor. And depth-wise, it comes in at just over 8.2 (20.9cm) inches as well. So footprint-wise, it should fit nicely on most kitchen counters without taking up too much space.

Where it shines is in its power. This smart blender has some serious motor muscle under the hood. And that kind of power needs some bulk to back it up. So while it may not be the smallest appliance, its weight of about 8.6 lbs feels pretty reasonable given what it’s capable of.

I’d say it has a nice substantial yet not oversized design. It won’t sneak into your cupboards unnoticed like a personal blender might. But it also won’t dominate the whole countertop either.

Jar Capacity and Material of Ninja TB201 Detect Power Blender Pro

Ninja TB201 Detect Power Blender Review
Overall Scored of this feature100%

This blender comes with a pretty generous-sized jar. It holds a total of 72 ounces which is almost a full gallon! Even with the liquid line at 64 ounces, that’s enough for a crowd. I love that I can easily toss in a bunch of ingredients and blend up big batches of smoothies, sauces, or whatever else I’m making. This jar also comes with Ninja TB401 and TB301.

The jar also has handy measurement marks right on the side. So no need to dig out extra cups or spoons – just pour to the desired ounce, milliliter, or cup line. How convenient is that? Between the large capacity and built-in measurements, it’s perfect for recipes.

I’m also a fan that the jar is made of tough, BPA-free plastic. It feels sturdy enough that I don’t have to worry about breaking it if I accidentally bang it against the cabinets. And since it’s dishwasher safe, cleanup is a breeze. No more scrubbing stubborn residue – just toss it in the top rack.

With its generous size, easy-pour design, and durable plastic construction, I’d say this jar hits all the marks for functionality and convenience.

Lid of Ninja TB201 Detect Power Blender Pro

Overall Scored of this feature100%

The lid on this blender jar is unique in that the entire top piece remains attached – there’s no separate center section that comes out. At first, I was a little unsure how I’d add ingredients without fully removing the lid.

But then I noticed it has a handy little pouring spout built right into the corner. Genius! This allows you to easily fill your glass straight from the jar without having to unscrew the whole lid or risk spilling everywhere. No more precarious lid-in-one-hand, jar-in-the-other maneuvering.

I’ve also found the solid lid top comes in handy when I want to use an optional tamper tool to push ingredients down into the blades. Just pop it in through the spout opening and you’re good to go. No lid removal is required. This is totally different from Kitchenaid k150 blender.

Between the pour spout and the ability to use a tamper without unscrewing, this lid design maximizes convenience. I can blend, tamp, and serve directly from the jar quickly and cleanly. It may take a second to get used to, but now I can see why they designed it this way – it works well!

Blades of Ninja TB201 Detect Power Blender Pro

Ninja BN701 Professional Plus Blender Review
Overall Scored of this feature100%

This blender is a total champ when it comes to blending power. It comes equipped with six sharp blades stacked together – more than many other high-powered models like Vitamix 7500 and 5200. While some blenders only have four blades, the extra muscle these six provide really shows.

Whether I’m pureeing tough veggies or crushing ice, everything gets reduced to a fine texture in no time at all. I can feel the blades’ strength each time I blend, ensuring even the most fibrous foods don’t stand a chance.

And talk about convenience – the multi-blade assembly pops right out for easy cleaning. No need to scrub around individual blades like with some other brands like Vitamix E310. I simply drop the whole thing in the dishwasher and let the jets of water do the work.

This removable feature is a real bonus in my book. Some comparable machines make you rinse the blades by hand, which can be messy and time-consuming. I appreciate any design that saves me effort in the cleaning department!

Ninja TB201 Detect Power Blender Review

The Ninja TB201 Detect Duo Power Blender Pro is truly a force to be reckoned with in the world of kitchen appliances. With its impressive 1800-watt motor base, this blender is designed to handle even the toughest ingredients with remarkable ease and efficiency. Whether you’re blending fibrous fruits, and hearty vegetables, or crushing ice for your favorite frozen treats, this blender is up to the task.

You know this model is equipped with 10 different speed settings, and users have the freedom to tailor their blending experience to achieve the perfect texture and consistency for every recipe. Whether you prefer a smooth and velvety puree or a more chunky and textured blend, you can adjust the speed settings to suit your preferences with ease.

These both features of the Ninja TB201 Blender Pro aren’t exclusive to this model alone. Its counterparts, such as the Ninja TB201 and TB401, boast the same powerful motor base and versatile speed settings, ensuring that you’ll get exceptional performance and control no matter which model you choose.

Fibrous Ingredients

Overall Scored of this feature100%

This little guy works pretty well for small batches of greens and other fibrous foods. If you’re just whipping up a single serving kale smoothie or something, it’ll leave you with just a few tiny flecks of fiber leftover – very smooth overall.

Where it can struggle a bit is if you’re prepping a larger, multiple serving recipe. The automatic “BlendSense” mode alone isn’t quite enough in those cases. You’ll want to follow it up with a couple minutes of solid, high-speed blending to really break down all those fibrous veggie strands.

It still blends kale and other tough foods just fine – you’ll just have to put in a touch more elbow grease is all. As long as you let it rip on the highest setting for a few minutes, it makes quick work of preparing greens for smoothies or blended soups. The texture might not be completely silky smooth, but it’s plenty blended for most recipes.

Crushing Ice and Nut Butter

This thing is an absolute beast when it comes to crushing ice – seriously impressive! With just one push of the “BlendSense” button, it’ll turn those cubes into powdery snow in under 30 seconds flat. No more watered-down cocktails for this guy.

It also does a great job with nut butters. Using the auto setting is a good place to start, but you’ll want to follow it up with a few minutes of blending on low and medium speeds to really get a super smooth consistency. The nice part is you don’t have to stop it to scrape down the sides like with some other blenders. Just set it and forget it. The result is a perfectly spreadable butter every time.

This blender is really cool because it has this “smart blending” mode called BlendSense. Basically, it can detect what you’re blending and then automatically adjust the speed and time for you. When you turn it on, the dial lights up while it’s figuring out your recipe. Then it will show a countdown for how much longer it needs to blend.

This is super handy because it means you don’t have to babysit your smoothies or sauces. The blender takes care of perfectly blending everything for you. For example, if you’re making a fruit smoothie, it will blend the berries and whatever else until they’re totally smooth and creamy, without any chunks hiding in there.

On top of the smart blending, you also get full manual control with the ten speed settings dial. You can choose to blend something at a specific speed for up to a full minute before it shuts off. There’s also a pulse button that’s great for breaking up big chunks, like frozen fruit or ice cubes, before fully blending them.

Ninja has even included some preset programs for common blending tasks. There’s one for “large chop” that runs for 10 seconds, perfect for dicing veggies. Another for “small chop” that goes for the same time. And a “mince” setting that runs a bit longer at 13 seconds, ideal when you really need to break things down small.

The cleanup for this Ninja blender can be a bit tricky since the blade assembly isn’t the easiest thing to wash by hand. It’s basically a tall column with very sharp blades attached – you definitely don’t want to be careless handling it!

There’s also a little hole on the bottom where it connects to the jar that food just loves to get stuck in. No matter how carefully you rinse, some bits always seem to linger in there. I usually have to bust out a bottle brush or something similar to really dislodge everything.

And as with any blender, cleaning is way easier if you add a bit of water to your ingredients before blending. Liquids just wash out of the jar so much better than thicker mixtures. But if you go dry, be prepared for some serious scrubbing later!

Overall Scored of this feature100%

This little guy is no quiet kitchen appliance, that’s for sure. It clocks in at a solid 94 decibels, which is definitely loud enough to disturb anyone in adjacent rooms if you’re blending for more than a minute or two straight.

Now, 94db isn’t the worst I’ve heard – some other heavy-duty blenders can get downright ear-splitting. But it’s still not background-party-noise levels by any means. You’ll want to get your blending done and dusted before anyone starts complaining!

Personally, the noise has never bothered me too much since I’m only blending short bursts at a time. But if you’re one of those folks who likes to set a blender going for extended smoothie-making sessions, you might want some noise-canceling headphones at the ready. The last thing you need is grumpy family members while you’re trying to get your prep done.

Ninja NJ601AMZ Blender

After comparing both of these Ninja blenders, I definitely think the TB201 is the better choice overall. Don’t get me wrong, the NJ601AMZ is a solid blender too – but the TB201 just feels like a step up in quality and performance.

For one, the TB201 blends down fibrous veggies like kale into a silky-smooth texture way faster than the other model. That automatic “BlendSense” mode is clutch for smoothies on the go. It knows exactly when your recipe is done so you don’t have to babysit it as much.

I also found the TB201 produced nut butter and other thick mixtures with less effort. That auto-stopping feature is really handy for recipes you have to blend for extended periods. The NJ601 is more of a manual blender in comparison.

Don’t get me wrong, both will absolutely get the job done. But if you’re looking for the best all-around blender that takes some of the guesswork out of the process, I’d recommend spending the extra cash on the TB201. The upgrades like the automatic programs and stronger motor make blending so much more convenient in the long run, in my opinion.

Ninja BL610 Blender

After comparing both the TB201 Detect and BL610 Professional models, I definitely think the Detect has some key advantages. Don’t get me wrong, the Professional is a solid blender too – but the Detect just makes things easier overall, especially for busier mornings.

First of all, the Detect purees greens like kale into silky-smooth smoothie material noticeably faster than the Professional. That auto “BlendSense” mode is so handy when you’re in a rush. It also makes nut butter on its own with no pausing – just set and forget.

I really love that the Detect has an actual automatic program instead of just manual speeds. That way you don’t have to stand there blending for who knows how long. It just shuts off when your recipe is perfectly blended. Such a time-saver!

Now, the Professional is noticeably quieter for sure. But honestly, the noise hasn’t bothered me too much with the Detect since I’m only blending in short bursts. And the upgrades like faster blending and auto programs more than makeup for me.

If you’re torn between the two, I’d say go for the Detect. The conveniences it offers are so worth it in my opinion, especially if you blend a lot of greens or nut butter. Its “smart” features make whipping up smoothies a total breeze. Read our full review on Ninja BL610 Professional Blender.

Ninja Tb401 Blender

The main difference between the TB201 Detect and TB401 Detect Kitchen System models is that the Kitchen System comes with a few extra goodies – a food processor bowl and a personal-sized blending jar. It’s also a touch bulkier since it has more attachments.

Other than that, they’re pretty similar. They both have that handy “BlendSense” feature that senses your recipe and adjusts the blending accordingly. Really takes some of the guesswork out of it.

Performance-wise, the main pitchers blend about the same. But where the Kitchen System has the edge is if you need to whip up single servings. That personal jar makes the smoothest smoothies from small veggie batches compared to the regular pitcher.

If counter space or extra pieces aren’t an issue, the Kitchen System gives you more options. But honestly, the standard Detect is plenty of blender for most people too. You really can’t go wrong with either!

Calphalon 24-oc Blender

After comparing both the Calphalon and Ninja blenders, I’ve found the Calphalon makes smoother textures overall – especially for greens-based smoothies and blended soups. It just pulverizes those fibrous veggies into total silkiness.

I also love that it comes with a personal-sized jar perfect for single servings. Whipping up a smoothie or protein shake to go is so handy. Makes portion control a breeze too.

Cleaning is definitely easier with the Calphalon as well. No narrow crevices or hard-to-reach blades. Just toss the whole thing in the dishwasher and call it a day.

Where the Ninja has the edge though is recipes like nut butter and hummus that require longer blending times. With the Calphalon, you have to keep pausing to stir. But the Ninja can just run continuously uninterrupted.

I’m really impressed by this blender’s performance. For the price, it’s incredibly powerful and has some really convenient smart features that make blending a breeze.

The “BlendSense” mode is honestly a total game-changer. Not having to babysit recipes and manually time them is such a relief. It consistently created perfectly smooth smoothies, sauces, and more without any effort on my part.

It also shredded through ice like it was nothing and made amazingly creamy nut butter without any sticking or burning. The auto programs are perfect for set-it-and-forget-it tasks.

Cleaning was simple too thanks to the dishwasher-safe parts. No fiddly crevices or blades to scrub.

Really the only downside is the noise, but it doesn’t bother me much since blending sessions are short. And the presets ensure you’re not running it excessively.

If you’re looking for a powerful blender that takes some of the guesswork out of recipes with its smart technology, I’d highly recommend the Ninja tb201 Detect.
